Item Description

The Rani ki Vav rug draws inspiration from the ancient stepwells of India; historical architectural structures that carry cultural and spiritual significance. Expertly handknotted in Nepal using Himalayan wool, the cotton-silk blend rug references the stepwell built in 1063 by Rani Udayamati to commemorate her husband, Bhimdev I. The stepwell is now a UNESCO’s World Heritage site.
