Marrikur is the brainchild of Natalie Thakur and Neale Marriott. Binding leather expertise with fine art, the studio’s interior furnishings includes handpainted leather marquetry mirrors and Tuscan leather lamps. The fusion of traditional craft and contemporary art redefines living spaces with tactile, design-led solutions.
‘We translate ideas into beautiful and functional pieces, while displaying exceptional craftmanship and understated excellence in fine art and design.’
With a BA in Contemporary Applied Arts and training at Cordwainers, Natalie Thakur founded Natthakur, a collection of leather bags seen in Selfridges, Le Bon Marche and The V&A. Neale Marriott, a trained Garden Designer has over 20 years’ worth of experience as an artist and art educator, with works spotlighted in One Aldwych Hotel, Parkridge House, Maersk Shipping and SmithKline Beecham.
Every leatherwork piece, oil painting and embroidered cushion is manufactured in the studio's Chiltern Hills workshop located just outside of London, enabling full control from concept to completion. Neale individually frames each painting, wall panel, and mirror using at least 70% FSC certified oak, cherry, and walnut. A specialist finish is then applied to enhance the richness of the wood's natural characteristics.
